Gabe Ortiz Jr.

AASM Governing Medical Board Member

Gabe serves as Vice President of Sales-West.  Gabe joined Prosidyan after a successful tenure with Medtronic Spine and Biologics as Regional Sales Manager where he was responsible for the strategic direction and leadership of a multi-state region within the Biologics platform.

Gabe came to Prosidyan with over 15 years’ experience in the Medical Device/Biotech arena with positions of increasing responsibility in sales and sales management with companies such as Bristol-Myers Squibb, Elan and GlaxoSmithkline.  Gabe holds a bachelor’s in biology from Arizona State University and an MBA in Health Services Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management.

Dr. Shawn Wright

Dr. Shawn Wright, a senior partner in the largest Chest Medicine group in Arizona, is Board Certified in Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine and Neurocritical Care Medicine.  Dr. Wright has published over 35 abstracts, articles, and book chapters and is actively involved in medical research.  Dr. Wright has interests in exercise physiology and the cardiopulmonary effect of training in older athletes.  As a master’s athlete himself, Dr. Wright has been ranked in the top 5 in the U.S. in his age group over the last 10 years in the Discus.  Dr. Wright placed 1st in the USATF Masters National Indoor Shot Put and placed 2nd nationally in Discus twice.  In his spare time, Dr. Wright coaches high school track and has coached 8 Arizona State Discus and Shot-Put Champions and 3 consecutive Arizona Team State Championships.

Dr. Robert Chavez

Dr. Robert Chavez, a native of Arizona is an Arizona board certified anesthesiologist and is currently a practicing member of Valley Anesthesiology Consultants in Phoenix, Arizona.  Dr. Chavez has been a member of this organization for over 10 years since his graduation from his undergraduate education where he excelled in biological sciences, earning two separate undergraduate degrees simultaneously in biochemistry and molecular and cellular biology.  During his undergraduate education, Dr. Chavez excelled in undergraduate research in the area of liver transplant preservation and presented his work at numerous scientific meetings.  As an undergraduate, Dr. Chavez was awarded the prestigious University of Arizona research grant known as BRAVO which enabled him to conduct research abroad at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada where he studied the immunomodulatory effects of garlic on cytochrome P450 activity.  After graduating with honors from the University of Arizona, Dr. Chavez was accepted for a year before being accepted to the University of Arizona College of Medicine.  After medical school, Dr. Chavez began his residency by performing his yearlong internship in internal medicine at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine.  Dr. Chavez subsequently performed his anesthesia residency at Stony Brook University College of Medicine in Stony Brook, New York.  While excelling in all

aspects of anesthetic medicine at Stony Brook, Dr. Chavez received specialized training in intra and post-operative pain control, with specific focus on utilizing regional nerve block techniques under ultrasound guidance for post-operative pain control.  Dr. Chavez was awarded Stony Brook 2007 anesthesiology resident of the year award upon graduation from Stony Brook and subsequently returned home to join the Valley Anesthesiology Consultant team in the fall of 2007. As well as performing general and regional anesthetic care in a wide spectrum of clinical scenarios, Dr. Chavez also specializes in trauma medical care at Honor Health Osborn Hospital, which is leading level 1 trauma center in Scottsdale, Arizona.  Dr. Chavez is a current Diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology and holds membership in both the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the Arizona Society of Anesthesiology.

Dr. A. William Elrey

Dr. A. William Elrey is a second-generation Chiropractor who has benefited from chiropractic adjustments since birth.  He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic at the prestigious Southern California University of Health Science.  His passion for health and chiropractic was brought to life through his own athletic background.  As a rugby player, he found that weekly adjustments maximized his athletic performance and helped prevent injury.  While attending chiropractic college, Dr. Elrey played rugby for Belmont Shore RFC in Long Beach, California.  He played at the Division I and Pacific Rugby Premiership levels.  As a student, he joined the Sports Injury Council and coordinated a partnership between the Sports Medicine Residency program and Belmont Shore Rugby.  He brought his two passions together and was able to play the sport he loves and be a team doctor to his teammates.  Dr. Elrey has achieved great success through chiropractic and physical medicine both as a patient and a practitioner.  He is bilingual (se habla espanol) and enjoys working with patients of all ages.

Martin Ramirez III

AASM President and CEO

Martin Ramirez III is a native of Arizona, attended Corona del Sol High School, and is a United States Marine Corps veteran where he received an Honorable Discharge for his services.  It was in the military where Martin developed the concept of All American Sports Medicine by not only enhancing his fellow Marines in athleticism and functional advancement, but improving their human performance on and off the battlefield.  Martin trained hundreds of military and civilian personnel while on active duty, and during the completion of his tour.  Upon his discharge from the Marines, Martin attended Arizona State University and graduated with a B.S. in Justice Studies, sharpening his craft in fitness, business, and services, he then proceeded to complete his MBA at Grand Canyon University, and eventually completed his M.S. in Sports Management from American Military University.  Martin also holds a Professional Fitness Undergraduate Diploma from Bryan University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.  Martin’s goal is to serve those who wish to work in professional fitness with a certification of the utmost in professionalism and sustainability in the professional fitness industry.  Martin’s passion for professional fitness and human performance runs deep and wants to offer his fellow service members the opportunity to make their mark in the professional fitness industry with AASM.  Martin also wants to deliver a personal training certification conveniently that will impact the lives of not only those who hold a certification from AASM, but the lives of those who are trained by our professionals.
